This week we met with Dr. Klaesner to discuss our current ideas and the progress report/presentation. We got some clarification about patents related to our project and how to ensure we do not infringe on them. We discussed the best way to approach the design alternatives for our report. We concluded that instead of 10 separate alternatives we will split the alternatives into solutions for various aspects of our project. We will come up with 3-4 solutions for detecting infection and detecting edema each. We will also come up with various solutions to make the device wearable and user friendly. We have decided our best path is to utilize temperature measurements for detecting infection and probe depression measurements to detect for edema.
